File Corruption Problem
This error message means one or more game files
are bad or corrupted on your computer. This is most likely a problem
with your computer, not with the game or the game CD.
Step 1
If you have a DVD or CD-R or CD-RW drive, then update the drivers
for it (most plain CD-ROM drives do not need drivers)
Step 2
Update the drivers for your IDE interface. The IDE interface
is usually located on your motherboard, so updated drivers can
be obtained from the motherboard or computer manufacturer's website.
Step 3
Re-install the game:
- Turn off (disable) any anti-virus software
- Insert the game CD, wait for the window to
open and click "Reinstall" (no need to uninstall first).
- After the installation is complete, turn on
your anti-virus software
This will most likely fix the problem.
If not, there's one more possible step...
Step 4 (maybe)
Only if steps 1-2-3 didn't work
- Insert the game CD and when the window pops
up click on "Reinstall" (do not uninstall first!)
- When the setup program asks where to install
the game, change the location to something different than where
it was installed in step 3. Simply change the folder name to
something different.
The idea is to install a second copy of the game
while leaving the first copy in place. This new copy may have
a better chance of working.
If none of this fixes your problem, please submit
a bug report telling us what you've tried.
