Soundgarden and Guitar Hero Team up on Warriors of Rock
Soundgarden will be getting together with Activision to release downloadable content in collaboration with Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock and Telephantasm, the first new album from the Seattle grunge ubermen in over a decade.
With the September launch of Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock, players will get full access to Telephantasm as downloadable content, including “Black Rain,” the band’s new single which will debut exclusively on the popular video game.
“We’re extremely excited to be collaborating with Soundgarden on this monumental moment in their music career,” said Tim Riley, Vice President of Music Affairs for Guitar Hero.
In addition, at the end of September, Soundgarden’s label will be releasing three expanded versions of their new album, including a double-disc with 12 additional tracks, five of which are previously unreleased, and Soundgarden’s first-ever DVD, featuring 20 videos, 13 of which have never been released.
THEY LOVE YOU, YEAH, YEAH, YEAH
In what has to be one of the most unique team-ups this year, MTV Games and Desires Hotels have linked up to offer a special promotion to fans of The Beatles: Rock Band Game. The independent modern boutique hotel chain is offering a free Beatles Rock Band music video game to anyone booking a minimum two-night stay at any of their hotels. When you book for three nights, you’ll receive a gratis Beatles Limited Edition Premium Bundle. Participating Desires Hotels will also be hosting a special Beatles Rock Band Happy Hour where you can experience the game first-hand while at the hotel. The offer is good until the end of the year.

DEF JAM RAPSTAR BRING PUBLIC ENEMY, NAS AND MORE TO THE MIX
4mm Games, Terminal Reality and Def Jam Interactive have announced a slew of additional tracks for Def Jam Rapstar, their new interactive hip-hop music game., due out November 5th. Billed as “the ultimate emcee experience for video game consoles,” Def Jam Rapstar offers up more than forty hip-hop classics. And you can use your console camera to upload your video to the Def Jam Rapstar website of the same name. The game features tracks from Diddy, Method Man, Nas, Nelly, Public Enemy and more.

ROBBIE WILLIAMS DEBUTS IN VIDEO GAME LAND
Brit pop superstar Robbie Williams will be getting his feet wet in the video game world with his own singing game, which will allow fans to celebrate the popular entertainers 20 years of hit music. Titled We Sing Robbie Williams, the game will feature 25 tracks from the popular English artist, which will be accompanied by all the original videos. The release of the game will coincide with Robbie Williams’ In And Out Of Consciousness: The Greatest Hits 1990-2010.
Williams has sold 57 million albums 11 million singles, and has had seven UK No.1 albums making him the biggest selling solo artist in the UK. We Sing Robbie Williams will be available for Wii in October 2010.

KID ROCKERS THE THRASHERS HIT THE STUDIO
The Thrashers, a Northern California-based group of hard-rocking ten-year-olds, are seen in the studio of veteran producerSylvia Massy (Tool, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Powerman 5000). The group is recording ten tracks with Massy in herRadioStar Studios in remote Weed, California, ten miles south of Mt. Shasta.
