For Darryl Evans and Everyone Helping in Haiti

To My Brother-in-Law Darryl Evans

A Letter of Appreciation by Tim Wambolt

My deepest condolences go out to people of Haiti, my gratitude, admiration and love goes out to my brother-in-law Darryl Evans and his supporting family Tiffany and Jasmine and all the troops out there helping in these terrible times.

And to all the religious nutjobs saying that the people of Haiti deserved death, and this is a punishment from god; you people are the reason that intelligent people turn to atheism, you people are the reason that we are at war, you people are the reason that my brothers and sisters in the military may never get to live to see their families again, you people are the reason that gays and Jews and Muslims and so many other people that you deem wrong are killed in hate crimes. You people and your belief in a vengeful god are the reason that this world is probably going to end soon!

If there is a god I believe that he is kind and caring, and that he loves everyone, all of his creations equally. If there is a god I believe that he would not want war or death, especially in his name! He would want us all to get along and love each other. And if I am wrong and god is fag hating, racist, judgmental, vengeful punisher then may he strike me with lightning this second! Hey, I'm still here! That must either mean that god does not exist or that he is a loving, caring god who does not want killing or punishment! Maybe all he wants is for us to all love each other and get along and enjoy every second of this short life that he gave us to live in happiness! So let's try something new, let's stop listening to the religious nuts, the zealots, the fanatics and the hypocritical priests who conduct judgmental sermons against homosexuals, stinking up the church with breath that smells like six year old alter boy cock. Scaring and upsetting everyone is not helping anything! If god does exist then he is a creator, accidents happen, natural disasters happen, nothing is meant to be, god is not punishing us. If anyone should be held responsible it should be us for the horrible things we do.

Since we are the ones who have been using made up religions as excuses to kill since the beginning of time we should be the ones taking responsibility for our own actions. Let's co-exist and try believing that god is love, and that god is in the hearts of the kind and the charitable, and the brave men and women in all of the militaries around the world protecting us from these stupid, crazy, ignorant people: "A boy kissed another boy? That's wrong! Kill them!"

One day it will all go too far and they will end up killing us all over man-made religions. Take this atrocity in Haiti as an eye opener; when something like this happens, do you love and help or do you hate and judge? If Heaven really does exist, which of these two paths do you honestly think will lead you there? And if there is no Heaven, if there is nothing else at all beyond this life, then here's a concept: just calm down enjoy the short time we have! The fact of the matter is nobody knows anything for sure, we were never meant to, so let's all stop acting like we do before it's too late! All we can do, and all we should do is love, forgive and live!
