ZOOM Platform

Anybody here hate DRM? One of the major detractors (other than being quite buggy) for POSTAL III was its very Draconian DRM. You could install it a handful of times and then the game would shut itself down never to let you play it again. We can certainly understand it really sucked when that happened. Steam should have been the only DRM POSTAL III needed if it needed any at all. We here at Running With Scissors prefer to be DRM-free as we want people to enjoy our games without having to worry about active Internet connections or install limits. Wouldn't it be great if there was a way to play the games you love even in the middle of a forest or on top of a mountain or anywhere else you don’t have an Internet connection? Well now you can play wherever you like! Download your install files from ZOOM Platform once and store them someplace handy such as a backup hard drive or a DVD and you will always have access to your games. Once it is installed you will never again need any physical media or Internet access to be able to enjoy your games.

Indie Spotlight: Divinity: Original Sin

The Indie Spotlight is charged up and ready to shine again. This time the spotlight is landing squarely on Divinity: Original Sin otherwise known as one fantastic game. Divinity: Original Sin is another Kickstarter success blasting past its original goal and reaching over one million dollars in contributions once Paypal is mixed in. The game talked to all the NPCs, quested its way though the Steam Early Access World, battled bugs and problems along the way and ultimately defeated the end boss by releasing itself into the unsuspecting world. There is a lot we have to cover in this Indie Spotlight so I will have to cut short this introduction and jump right in to the game.

Divinity: Original Sin is the latest entry in the Divinity series by Larian Studios. If you have not played any of the Divinity Series and are afraid to pick up on it randomly, it’s quite okay to start with Divinity: Original Sin as it is actually a prequel to the fi...

Uwe Boll's Opinion on Games and Developers!

Good news everybody! Or at least here is some interesting news everybody. We have just found out the genius behind the POSTAL Movie has appeared in a YouTube video series entitled DISSLIKE. Uwe Boll read out loud and responded to tweets and Facebook messages sent to him by fans. Although a lot of the messages were concerned with his movies, we were told he also shared his own opinion of games and game developers in this most informative talk. Let’s go listen to his video now for what we are sure will be an edifying and enlightening experience.

Well that wasn’t exactly what we were expecting although it certainly was edifying and enlightening!  What could possess a person to make unprovoked attacks on his fellow man? Sarcasm and downright nasti...

Labor Day

Since we have commented on other holidays, we thought we might as well mention Labor Day. Eagerly awaited by some, dreaded by others. Labor/Labour Day in USA and Canada officially signifies the end of the free-wheeling hot and happy days of summer. It generally means that school is going back in the following day and since it’s now a new fashion season, filthy rich, snobby ladies can no longer wear white and still remain thought of as fashionably cool. Hmm I wonder what the Dude would have to say about that. For many of us going back to school is always a high point in the year meeting old friends and making new ones for others it’s just thought of as the start of the same old grind and can’t wait to be done with it. It’s always nice to get an extra day off work too.

Labor Day actually is a very important day in the lives of the working people. It’s celebrated in some form or another in all parts of the world a...
